Paintball is a sport in which participants eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with paintballs (spherical gelatin capsules containing primarily polyethylene glycol, other non-toxic and water-soluble substances, and dye) shot from a compressed-gas-powered "marker" (proponents of the sport endorse the use of 'marker', rather than the more violent 'paintball gun').

Review: Silver Bullet Paintball Gun
By Hope Ocampo

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet Gun is a fully automated marker. Priced at approximately $ 170 or $ 190, this marker comes in semi automatic, multi, turbo and full automatic firing modes. It has an adjustable rate of fire of 1 – 20 balls per second. It comes with an electronic trigger frame with an electronic safety. Its LCD screen displays the game time, the rate of fire adjustment and a shot counter. It is a double triggered marker, with a low pressure chamber. It has an expansion chamber, a 0-1200 PSI gauge, a Delran bolt (aluminum). It is a flame style drop forward marker, with a rear velocity adjuster and a tourney lock. It comes in black, blue and chrome and has a two year warranty.

The Psycho Ballistic Silver Bullet LCD has a well made stock barrel; however, you can upgrade it to an even better barrel. This marker performs well if used with compressed air instead of CO2. The trigger pull is also rather soft, so one might need to adjust it a little to prevent the trigger from jiggling. The sight rail can also be considered rather ineffectual. If you use a psycho Ballistics silver Bullet LCD, you might want to a purchase a hopper that is quick enough to keep up with the marker’s rate of fire to avoid having to waste a lot of time clearing paint off your marker’s barrel.

The LCD display on this marker is backlit; this makes it difficult to see during the day but is good for playing at night. This can sometimes be a disadvantage when playing in daylight since it can be difficult to tell whether the marker’s electronic safety is turned on or off. This marker also takes up a lot in terms of power, so you have to be sure to keep a spare battery around when using this marker. This marker’s buttons are great for changing the gun’s settings; this is one of the advantages of using this marker.

A great thing about the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet marker is its quick release pin. This feature makes cleaning the gun very easy. However, the

Allen wrench that comes with the marker does not seem to suit all the parts of the gun. You will need to buy supplementary tools for you to be able to work on your Silver Bullet. The bolt also tends to scratch the marker’s internal parts, so you will need to have the bolt well oiled, or better yet, you can replace it with a new bolt.

The paint used to color the frame is also known to flake off. The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet gun’s solenoid might also cause you a bit of trouble. Another downside to this gun is that the manual is not at all helpful and the customer service support is just about average.

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet gun has a lot of built in features; however, it will do you well to make a few upgrades. Getting a faster hopper is a must. This marker is suitable to use with Spyder threads so you have a wider range of options when it comes to barrel upgrades. The marker’s grip, which is made of plastic, may also need replacing; however, you might have to make a few adjustments to be able to replace the grip. Using Nitrogen/HPA will allow you to use your Silver Bullet at its best. You may also need to purchase a rechargeable batter and a charger since this marker is known to drain batteries at a high rate. Getting a spare battery will make your life a whole lot easier.

Summing it all up, the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD gun shoots really fast. It also looks cool. This gun will give you a decent performance right out of the box. However, despite all the good features of the Silver Bullet, you can still get a fully automated gun that is better than the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD gun for a price similar to the price range of the Silver Bullet.
