A Brief History Of Paintball Games By Natalie Aranda
Paintball markers weren't originally used in the fast action sport of today. They had more humble beginnings when farmers would use paint markers to mark trees and cattle. Although they served their purpose well, an entrepreneurial group of 12 friends saw something more in these paint markers.
After playing the first version of capture the flag with these paint markers, this group of friends decided to buy into the tree marking manufacturer named Nelson. They immediately began promoting these tree marking guns in a brand new way, as markers. This is when officially began. Soon next year in 1982, the very first official field was opened in New York.
Currently, is easily one of the quickest growing sport, mainly because of its intense competitive nature. As it now stands in 2007, there's currently over 40 countries with millions of people playing paintball. Some of these players play professionally, as more and more events are getting official sponsorship and hosting.
Paintball continues to evolve as the years progress. There's many different kinds of styles of gameplay you can choose from. Some of the more popular styles of play are Speedball, Scenario, and Woodsball.
Speedball is the official tournament style you can sometimes find being played on television. The gameplay is very fast paced when compared to other styles of paintball. The quarters and your opponents are closer than if you were playing in the woods or in an open field, so the battles get a little bit more wild. Tournament games have strict rules and
guidelines players follow. These rules ultimately enhance the play of the game and make things fair for everyone involved.
Scenario games are common with war buffs and people who enjoy a good war storyline. These kinds of battles are based off of objectives and storylines. These kinds of games are the longest, and can often last for 10 hours or even go into the days.
Woodsbal is the good old fashioned in the woods style of play. Capture the flag is one form of the game played in the woods with markers. The other is elimination, which makes it a little more realistic as the last team standing wins.
The business side is also happily booming along with the sport. There's big demand for newer and better markers. If you are looking for some of these guns for sale, check the latest inventory in your favorite online store. Don't have a favorite in mind?
