Paintballs were devices used originally by cattle farmers to mark trees years ago, but it has become a popular sport among the masses in the United States. A few years ago, many people were interested in and participated in this sport that tournaments were eventually created. Today, there are different types of tournaments depending on the player's level of expertise and their seriousness in the game. In fact, more skill levels are available for play that one might think. For example, the Taheel Open has held a tournament ever since 1999 and in 2006, they had 77 teams competing at 3 skill levels: Beginner, Rookie, and Novice in North Carolina. Others like the World Cup have approximately 350 teams competing over the course of a week in events that even include preliminaries to disqualify teams.

It you're someone who has fascination in the sport and wanted to try it, there are many places in practically every state in the United States that offers games. However, if the sport is something you would like to play regularly, guns, or markers, are a vital investment. Many experts say that obtaining a solid working marker is the first step towards becoming a strong player.
